Attached is our 2020 Valentine’s Day market projection. We predict more buyers . . . but a tad lower on overall spending due to shifts in shopping the various channels. . . from florists to all others! It appears the younger buyers are LESS channel loyal. . . and also use more channels. But is it “them”? . . . or “us” ? . . . as we now market flowers virtually everywhere!
Unfortunately, we do not have a surveyed year when VD hit on a Friday . . . so we really have no consumer data to address that issue. However . . . if the weather is calm . . . with no storms. . . and with reminder signage in-store . . . and what smartphone won’t let you know its Valentine’s Day? . . sales could reach their potential. The weather forecast for Columbus on the 10th. . . about one week from now . . . is cloudy, mid 40’s . . 40% chance of rain . . . mild winds from the south. . . not sure
