Interesting article that was expected, since every year at this time someone brings up negative stories about imported flowers. In this one Amy Stewart, strikes again.
As I began reading this one I thought it might be a positive story but alas it was not. Yes, there is an unavoidable carbon footprint left by imported flowers, and if you can by local flowers that meet your needs you should. With that said the use of sea containers is one mitigating option that has promise but they no doubt leave some smaller, but measurable footprint as well.
