TPIE 2020 Review.

I did a quick visit to the Tropical Plant show in Fort Lauderdale and I am here to report that the plant business appears to be doing just fine.

This show has been a staple Industry event for years, attracting buyers from all over to enjoy Florida in January and see foliage in all shapes and forms. This is an expo but also a trade show and orders were being written.

Over the years the “orchid” has become the prominent item seen at many booths. As a consumer I have to admit that Phalaenopsis orchids are a great value, they last long, require minimal care and live on, if you give them a little TLC.

Air plants are really interesting with different colors looking like giant, friendly, spiders.

The basic feeling or theme I took away from the show was that is was about
“Living”. Many booths were centered around life.

Echeverias anyone! Who knew there were so many varieties of succulents?

There were a few flower exhibitors, and flowersandcents.com sponsors, exhibiting here, of course Jet Fresh Flowers, was well represented as always. The Pete Garcia Group is a regular with their huge hardgood selections.

One familiar vendor told me that he is moving out of flowers and into plants, because his data indicated that floral was shrinking but foliage was growing.

The Broward convention center where this is annually held is under contruction to say the least. This renovation has caused the TPIE organization has decided to move the show to Tampa Fla. for the next two years.

My video review of the show is below please give it a look, its a short one.

Thanks for reading and watching. Please follow all my activities and get the latest floral news at flowersandcents.com
