Mother’s Day 2020

Our Mighty Floral Ship is once again floating but we are not yet full steam ahead.
The Airlines are now having to re position aircraft into Bogota, Medellin and Quito. Since growers and exporters could not give the airlines accurate data about how much lift was needed the airlines routed their aircraft to other locations.

In Kenya the airlines have begun using the empty passenger planes for cargo. Free champagne for all the passengers. Yeah!

I believe the word for this Mother’s Day is “Patience”

It is going to take some time to get this ship moving so be patient and order what you need and stay flexible.

Many suppliers throughout the distribution chain will not be speculating and therefore will not have lots of inventory on hand.

As demand for flowers increases there are many challenges to getting the distribution chain back in high gear. Getting the manpower needed to handle the volume is just one of those challenges.

The doors of industry will be opening around the country in the coming days and the effect will be a lot of push and pull.

Good luck to all. Stay safe.
