Esmeralda Farms and Tecnoviv have entered into a definitive agreement pursuant to which
Esmeralda will acquire the variety portfolio and all the operations of Tecnoviv’s Genviv breeding
business unit in Ecuador and the United States.Genviv is a leader in innovation in the floricultural breeding sector, having introduced some of
the most recognizable rose and summer flower varieties in the market since its inception as
Esmeralda Breeding & Biotechnology in 1999.With this acquisition, Esmeralda Farms and its parent, Sunshine Bouquet Company, gain
Genviv’s rich pool of genetics and proven R&D capabilities. It is our goal to leverage these
assets to even better serve the global cut flower market by continuing Genviv’s legacy of
relentless innovation.Since Sunshine Bouquet’s acquisition of the Esmeralda Group in June of 2020, we have fully
experienced the assumed synergies and built upon our respective strengths; the combined
entity has truly been greater than the sum of the individual parts. This new breeding division
